Savri vs Google Analytics (GA4)
Last updated: July 7, 2026 · We build Savri, so expect bias. Every row in the table can be verified.
Savri is a cookieless Google Analytics alternative: no consent banner, data stored in the EU, real-time statistics and a tracking script under 1 KB (GA4’s weighs around 45 KB). GA4 is free and powerful, but requires a cookie banner, a longer setup and shows reports with a delay. Here is the full comparison.
| Feature | Savri | Google Analytics 4 |
|---|---|---|
| Cookies & consent banner | No banner needed | Requires a consent banner |
| GDPR | Compliant out of the box, data stored in the EU | Requires configuration, data processed by Google in the US |
| Script size | Under 1 KB | Around 45 KB |
| Reports | Real-time, no sampling | Delays up to 24-48 hours, sampling may occur |
| Setup | About 5 minutes | Often 30+ minutes (accounts, tags, consent) |
| Funnels & goals | Yes, built in | Yes, but needs more configuration |

Do you need a cookie banner with Google Analytics?
Yes. GA4 uses cookies to recognize visitors between page views, and under GDPR and the ePrivacy rules that means visitors must consent before measurement starts. In practice that means a banner on every page, and a significant share of visitors declining and disappearing from your statistics.
Savri sets no cookies and collects no personal data. No banner is needed, and you measure every visit anonymously, not just the visitors who clicked yes.
Is Google Analytics GDPR compliant?
The question has a history. In 2022, data protection authorities in Austria, France and Italy ruled Google Analytics implementations of the time unlawful because of data transfers to the US. Since mid-2023 there is a new adequacy decision (the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) that stabilizes the legal situation, but you still need consent, a data processing agreement and a correct configuration.
With a cookieless tool the whole question disappears: no personal data is collected, so there is nothing to transfer across the Atlantic.
When is Google Analytics the right choice?
We would love to sell you Savri, but GA4 is the right tool when:
- You advertise heavily in Google Ads and want the deep integration with conversion data.
- You need BigQuery export or advanced ecommerce analysis at the raw-data level.
- Your budget is exactly zero and you accept the cookie banner, delayed reports and the learning curve.
How to switch from GA4 to Savri
- Create an account and paste the tracking script (under 1 KB) into your site, it takes about five minutes.
- Run both tools in parallel for a few weeks and compare the numbers. Expect Savri to show more visitors, since no consent is required for measurement.
- Set up goals and funnels for what you actually want to measure, such as purchases, forms or downloads.
- Remove the GA tag and the cookie banner once you trust the numbers.
Frequently asked questions
Is Savri a good Google Analytics alternative?
Yes, if you want to skip the cookie banner and consent requirements, get real-time statistics and keep your data in the EU. If you need deep Google Ads integration or BigQuery export, GA4 is still the right choice.
Does Google Analytics require a cookie banner?
Yes. GA4 uses cookies, and GDPR and ePrivacy rules require consent before measurement starts. Savri uses no cookies and therefore needs no banner.
Can I run Savri and Google Analytics at the same time?
Yes, that is the most common way to switch. The scripts do not interfere with each other, so you can compare numbers side by side before turning off GA4.
Why does Savri show more visitors than GA4?
GA4 only measures visitors who accept cookies. Savri measures every visit anonymously without cookies, so the numbers are closer to reality.
What does Savri cost compared to Google Analytics?
Google Analytics is free. Savri starts at $9 per month after a 30-day free trial. What you pay for is skipping the banner and the legal work, plus support, EU storage and reports you understand at a glance.
