Step 2: Click "Manage subscription"

Click the "Manage subscription" button to open the Stripe Customer Portal. This is a secure portal where you can manage all aspects of your subscription.

What is Stripe Customer Portal?

Stripe is our payment partner and Customer Portal is their secure interface for managing subscriptions. Here you can view your payment history, update your card, download invoices, and change your plan.

Step 3: Select "Update plan" or "Change plan"

In the Stripe Portal, you'll find your subscription details. Click "Update plan" or "Change plan" to see available options.

Step 4: Choose your new plan

You'll see all available plans and prices. Choose the plan that fits your needs:

  • Traffic level: Adjust based on your pageviews per month
  • Plan type: Choose between Starter, Basic, Growth, or Business
  • Billing period: Monthly or yearly (yearly = 2 months free)

Learn more about the differences between plans.

Step 5: Confirm the change

Once you've selected your new plan, you'll see a summary of the change and what it means for your billing. Click "Confirm plan change" to complete the switch.

What happens when I change my plan?

📈 Upgrade (to higher plan)

When you upgrade to a more expensive plan, the following happens:

  • Immediate access: You get instant access to all new features
  • Pro-rata billing: You only pay for the remaining time in your current period
  • No data loss: All statistics and settings are preserved

📉 Downgrade (to lower plan)

When you downgrade to a cheaper plan, the following happens:

  • Change at next period: The downgrade takes effect when your current billing period ends
  • Full access until then: You keep all features until the end of the period
  • Check limits: Make sure your new plan can handle your needs (number of sites, traffic, etc.)

Important when downgrading

If your new plan has lower limits than your usage (e.g., fewer sites or lower traffic level), some features may stop working at the end of the period.

Example: If you have 5 sites and downgrade to Starter (max 2 sites), only the 2 most recently used sites will continue to be tracked.

How does billing work when changing plans?

When upgrading

When you upgrade mid-billing period, Stripe automatically calculates a pro-rata credit from your old plan and charges you for the remaining time on the new plan.

Example: Mid-month upgrade

You have the Basic plan (189 kr/mo) and upgrade to Growth (299 kr/mo) after 15 days:

Remaining period (15 days): 15/30 = 50%
Credit from Basic: 189 × 0.5 = -94.50 kr
Cost for Growth (remaining 50%): 299 × 0.5 = 149.50 kr
To pay now: 149.50 - 94.50 = 55 kr

When downgrading

When you downgrade, you don't pay anything extra until the next billing period. You can use your current plan until then.

Change billing period (monthly to yearly or vice versa)

You can also change from monthly to yearly billing (or vice versa) through the Customer Portal. This counts as a plan change and follows the same rules:

  • Switch to yearly: You immediately get 17% off (2 months free) and are charged pro-rata for the rest of the year
  • Switch to monthly: The change takes effect at the next renewal
